Addressing Homelessness with viable solutions
On any given night, more than a half million Americans experience homelessness – including tens of thousands of children and veterans.
Worsened by decades of underinvestment in new housing, the rising cost of living has affected nearly every American and none more-so than those at the margins of homelessness.
Addressing underlying causes of homelessness requires a multi-faceted approach, one we believe is rooted in both philanthropy and private-market solutions and innovations.
One critical part of this solution is lowering the barriers to real estate ownership. Hoya Capital’s core business is centered around the efficient allocation of capital to the home builders, housing operators, real estate technology companies, and service providers. Collectively, with the help of nonprofit organizations, these investments have seen the rate of homelessness in America decrease by more than 10% since 2007 according to the National Alliance to End Homelessness.
Hoya Capital Real Estate is proud to highlight three not-for-profit homeless service organizations based around the Southwestern Connecticut area. Each of which have scored amongst the highest star ratings according to Charity Navigator’s charity database.
